about

Deurloo recorded ‘Riverbeast’ at Wisseloord Studios, Netherlands, home to many legendary albums, in an exceptional collaboration with Steve Gadd. He is one of the most iconic drummers from the 70s to the present. Gadd played on albums by Paul Simon, Steely Dan, James Taylor and Paul McCartney, to name a few. He won a Grammy Award in 2019 with his own Steve Gadd Band.
‘Riverbeast’ also features Tony Scherr (bass, guitar), who co-produced the album with Deurloo, and Kevin Hays on keys and vocals. Soulsinger/writer Alain Clark is featured in the single track If We Can’t Trust Each Other.
The album contains 11 tracks; Deurloo wrote songs with Steve Gadd’s playing style in mind, blending jazz, pop, rhythm’n blues and soul into a groovy and yet laidback atmosphere. Such as a summervibe near the waterside.
The album was recorded by Chris Weeda (Toots Thielemans)and mastered by multiple Grammy winning Darcy Proper. The album title refers to Deurloo's happy childhood days, playing with friends along the riverside in Amsterdam a.o.
